CULPRIT: MOSQUITOES
WHERE THEY HANG OUT These unwanted party guests can be found near most bodies of water, such as marshes, lakes, ponds, pools & even standing water in bird baths, pet bowls, potted plant saucers & even clogged gutters. | WHAT THEY WANT The first three stages of a mosquito's life begin in the water. The females bite and require a blood meal before laying 50-200 eggs, which, depending on the species, may hatch in two or three days. | WHY THEY ARE SO BAD In addition to creating a painful bite, mosquitoes can be quite the health menace by carrying some of the most deadly diseases of humans, such as: encephalitis, yellow fever, malaria & west nile virus. |
